How to Use Twitter to Grow Your Online Business

The past couple of weeks I’ve written about how you can use your Facebook and Instagram business pages to grow your online business. If you missed them, check them out here: Facebook and Instagram. Tip #1: Have a great banner and profile picture

Does this sound familiar? Well it should. For all social media platforms, it is key that your pictures are on point! It will be one of the first things people see when they land on your page. Make sure you make a great impression. With your banner, that is a great opportunity to showcase your image, promote a product/service, or display your social proof. However, please ensure that you don’t have too many words on your banner…..people are not going to read it all. Make sure the information displayed is clear and concise.
Next is your profile picture. If you have followed me for any period of time, you know I am a strong advocate of using your image on your social media profile pictures. It makes it so much easier for people to relate to you. People buy from people they feel like they know and can relate to.


Tip #2: Complete your bio

When people land on your page, they should know who you are and what they do by reading your bio. Use emojis to help break up the words in your bio. Remember, you only have a certain number of characters to convey your message. Make it count!


Make sure you are using the link option. It should lead people to your website or freebie. There is a great debate about whether it should lead to a paid offer. Since people use Twitter to gain information, being led to something paid may not be the best option. However, getting them on your email list is the first step to then getting them to buy something.

Tip #2.5: Have a Pinned Post

I will throw this tip in as an extra! Make sure to have a pinned post on your Twitter Page (also your Facebook Page). Why? Because it’s the first thing people see when they land on their page. So why not lead them to your freebie! This is a great way to get them off Twitter and onto your landing page or website.

Tip #3: Respond to your notifications

Since Twitter moves at lightening speed, it can be hard to keep up with who is interacting with your content. So the best way to do so is to respond to your notifications. If someone mentions you, replies to your posts/comments, follows, or retweets you, make sure you acknowledge their actions. It will definitely stand out!
